(The page, called "Conversations with America My Government Listens" can be accessed directly from the Census Bureau's home page http://www.census.gov.) The initiative of the Clinton Administration's National Partnership for Reinventing Government is intended to bring about a closer dialog between federal workers and the public they serve on how to improve government service. The new Internet feature consists of a calendar of events with dates, locations, names of participants and contact persons for upcoming public events around the country at which Census Bureau personnel will discuss products, services or activities such as Census 2000. From this page, users may link to a related feature, the new Customer Information Exchange Page, which is a "one-stop" shop permitting them to: - "Ask the experts" by sending technical questions about the Census Bureau's products and services directly to the appropriate subject-matter specialist. - Provide comments or suggestions about specific Census Bureau products and services. - Participate in an online discussion group with other Census Bureau data users. - See results of recent Census Bureau surveys of customer satisfaction and how the agency acted on those results. - Find local sources for accessing Census Bureau statistics. - Subscribe to or view Census Bureau newsletters and news releases. - Link to products added to the Census Bureau's Web site during the last three months. The Census Bureau -- pre-eminent collector and provider of timely, relevant and quality data about the people and economy of the United States. In more than 100 surveys annually and 20 censuses a decade, evolving from the first census in 1790, the Census Bureau provides official information about America's people, businesses, industries and institutions.
