American Indian and Alaska Native Firms

Of the nation's 201,637 firms owned by American Indians or Alaska Natives, 16 percent (32,253) were in construction, tops among industries. The Census Bureau has released these data from the 2002 Survey of Business Owners. The results are available online in a PDF report and soon will be in downloadable form via the American FactFinder.
