Census 2000

Analysis of Multiple Origin Reporting to the Hispanic Origin Question in Census 2000. Working Paper available online in PDF examining people who reported more than one origin in response to the Census 2000 question on Hispanic origin. The demographic characteristics, as well as the geographic distribution, of this population is analyzed.

Data From Census 2000 and Previous Censuses Featured in Upcoming Atlas. The Census Bureau is publishing the Census Atlas of the United States, a thematic map book available for purchase in 2006 from the U.S. Government Printing Office, the Customer Services Center, and major commercial bookstores. Foreign-Born Population in the United States: 2004. Tabulations from the 2004 American Community Survey, highlighting areas with the highest concentrations of foreign-born residents. The data profiles will show demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of each area's foreign-born population, including year of entry, region of birth, ancestry, and language spoken at home.

Poverty Status of Families by Type and by U.S. Citizenship Status of the Householder: 2003. Four national-level tables from the American Community Survey present poverty data on the foreign-born by the following characteristics: citizenship status, year of entry, region of birth, and family type.


Population

Fertility of American Women: June 2004. Profiles current fertility patterns of American women by age, race, ethnicity, education, marital status, income and nativity. Also contains labor force participation data by fertility status.


Housing

Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates (SAIPE): 2003. Estimates of population and poverty for school districts, as well as income and poverty estimates for states and counties. Included are estimates of the number of poor children ages 5 to 17 in the nation's 15,000 school districts.

Contains the Industry Series reports, many of the Geographic Area Series reports, the 2003 Annual Survey of Manufactures, and more.

2002 Economic Census: Subject Series. Series of 57 reports for several industry sectors, all at the national level, showing product shipments by contributing industries and other information, product lines, establishment size, and legal form of organization. Reports issued on a flow basis; many available now.

2004 Service Annual Survey: Securities, Commodities and Other Financial Investments. Tabulations containing revenues for securities and commodity underwriters; dealers and brokers; and other financial industries.

Retail E-Commerce Sales: 3rd Quarter, 2005. Press release showing quarterly estimates for retail e-commerce sales is scheduled for release November 22, 2005.

Advance Report on Durable Goods Manufacturers' Shipments, Inventories, and Orders: October 2005. Press release showing advance information on key business indicators is scheduled for release November 29, 2005.

New Residential Sales: October 2005. Press release reporting new one-family houses sold and for sale is scheduled for release November 29, 2005.

Construction Put in Place: October 2005. Press release showing estimates of the value of total new construction put in place by type of construction and by type of owner is scheduled for release December 1, 2005.

Consolidated Federal Funds Report for Fiscal Year 2004 (State and County areas). Only consolidated source of data on the geographic distribution of federal expenditures, by state, county, and subcounty area.

Reference

Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2006. Latest edition of the national data book, a perennial government best seller, published since 1878. This edition introduces 80 new tables, including several from the American Community Survey. In recognition of this being the 125th edition, historical tables are included at the beginning of each section to highlight related data first appearing in earlier editions.
