Census 2000

Data From Census 2000 and Previous Censuses Featured in Upcoming Atlas. The Census Bureau is publishing the Census Atlas of the United States, a thematic map book available for purchase in 2006 from the U.S. Government Printing Office, the Customer Services Center, and major commercial bookstores. Foreign-Born Population in the United States: 2004. Tabulations from the 2004 American Community Survey, highlighting areas with the highest concentrations of foreign-born residents. The data profiles will show demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of each area's foreign-born population, including year of entry, region of birth, ancestry, and language spoken at home.

Poverty Status of Families by Type and by U.S. Citizenship Status of the Householder: 2003. Four national-level tables from the American Community Survey present poverty data on the foreign-born by the following characteristics: citizenship status, year of entry, region of birth, and family type.


Population

Fertility of American Women: June 2004. Profiles current fertility patterns of American women by age, race, ethnicity, education, marital status, income and nativity. Also contains labor force participation data by fertility status.


Economic Census and Surveys

2002 Economic Census: Subject Series. Series of 57 reports for several industry sectors, all at the national level, showing product shipments by contributing industries and other information, product lines, establishment size, and legal form of organization. Reports issued on a flow basis; many available now.

2004 Service Annual Survey. Internet files showing receipts for service industries. The following industries are scheduled for release soon:

Economic Indicators

Construction Put in Place. October 2005. Press release showing estimates of the value of total new construction put in place by type of construction and by type of owner. Scheduled for release December 1, 2005.

Full Report on Manufacturers' Shipments, Inventories and Orders: October 2005. Press release showing information on key business indicators. Revised durable goods totals, in addition to nondurable goods manufacturers' shipments, inventories, and orders is scheduled for release December 6, 2005.

Monthly Wholesale Trade. October 2005. Press release showing estimates for sales, inventories on a non-LIFO ("last in-first out") basis, and stock-sales ratios for merchant wholesalers by three-digit major kind-of-business groups is scheduled for release December 9, 2005.

Quarterly Financial Report Manufacturering, Mining, Wholesale Trade: 3rd Quarter. Press release showing up-to-date aggregate statistics on U.S. manufacturing, mining, and wholesale trade corporations is scheduled for release December 12, 2005.

Advance Monthly Sales for Retail and Food Services: November 2005. Press release presenting advance monthly estimates of retail store sales by kind-of-business groups. Report includes seasonally adjusted estimates and percentage changes for major kind-of-business groups is scheduled for release December 13, 2005.

Manufacturing and Trade: Inventories and Sales: October 2005. Press release showing sales, inventories, and inventories-to-sales ratios for the combined domestic activities of retailers, wholesalers, and manufacturers is scheduled for release December 13, 2005.

U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services: October 2005. Released December 14, 2005. Press release showing monthly exports, general imports (including data by country), and limited data on imports for consumption is scheduled for release December 14, 2005.

Quarterly Services Survey: 3rd Quarter. Press release showing quarterly estimates of total operating revenue and the percentage of revenue by class of customer for the services industries is scheduled for release December 14, 2005.


Governments

Consolidated Federal Funds Report for Fiscal Year 2004 (State and County areas). Only consolidated source of data on the geographic distribution of federal expenditures by state, county, and subcounty area.

Reference

Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2006. Latest edition of the national data book, a perennial government best seller, published since 1878. This edition introduces 80 new tables, including several from the American Community Survey. In recognition of this being the 125th edition, historical tables are included at the beginning of each section to highlight related data first appearing in earlier editions.
