Economic Census and Surveys

2004 County Business Patterns. Downloadable Internet files and reports available online in PDF providing data on number of business establishments, number of employees, payroll, and employment-size class. The data are provided at various geographic levels, including state, county, and metropolitan statistical area.

Survey of Business Owners: Native Hawaiian- and Other Pacific Islander-Owned Firms: 2002. Report on the state of these businesses from a survey conducted every five years. Statistics are shown separately for businesses with and without paid employees. The report includes data on sales and receipts for the nation, states and local areas with 100 or more Native Hawaiian- and other Pacific Islander-owned businesses. Also, data on business ownership for major, individual Pacific Islander groups are included. Due to limitations, publications of data will be withheld at many levels of geography.

Survey of Business Owners: American Indian- and Alaska Native-Owned Firms: 2002. Report on the state of these businesses from a survey conducted every five years. Statistics are shown separately for businesses with and without paid employees. The report includes data on sales and receipts for the nation, states and local areas with 100 or more American Indian- and Alaska native-owned businesses. The 2002 survey did not include tribal-owned businesses -considered to be government entities - so the data are not directly comparable to those collected in the 1997 survey.

Housing

2005 American Housing Survey National Public Use Microdata File. Microdata (i.e., household records with identifying information removed) from this survey enable users to generate their own tabulations on a wide range of housing topics; e.g., housing costs, satisfaction with neighborhood and the frequency of repairs made. The file consists of records of individual responses to the survey, with identifying information removed. Also available in statistical tabulations and as PDF reports.
